Small suggestion

I was looking at some concept art for the kelp forests and I saw that the kelp plants themselves were much larger than the actual player-- but in game they feel rather natural

I think it would be interesting to experiment with the size of the kelp plants, to make us really feel lost and in danger of being ambushed at any time (it is too easy to feel like they are a means of protection instead of a dangerous area)

    The size of those plants in game are actually very deceptive. Things tend to look a lot smaller in first person view then they really are, especially without a human character visible for comparison. The large kelp plants are actually very massive in scale, as you can see in the attached image showing the character model next to a work in progress version of the Kelp model.

    I see, but... I suppose my issue is how few leaves are on the actual stalk? Again, the issue isn't really how big they are but how I feel safe as opposed to constantly on guard

    Well, keep in mind, we always have to balance visuals with game performance. The plants are already very high on polycount, so adding even more detail with additional leaves would likely have a negative impact on framerate.

    Hmm... That's true, that's my bad; I think it could be circumnavigated entirely by have8ng the predtors hang out where theres a lot of vegetation? Idk if that's feasible though
