I think a ink grenade could be nice as a defense mechanism. Let's say you get attacked by whatever. You could mask yourself in a ink cloud. This gives a few options:
-it can make you look bigger for the enemy scaring him away
-he has no clue where you are except in the ink cloud
-you could get away by keeping one line with the ink and the enemy
-you could drop a flare from the ink to distract the enemy, him following the flare
It would be nice if you can craft it from a certain plant and a fish for example.
