Given recent discussion, it appears an attempt is being made to make Subnautica be playable on a low-end PC (2.5 Ghz Intel + integrated Intel HD4600 video @ 1280x720) -- which is great! So, is there going to be any eye candy (beyond AA/AF/higher res) available to power sub-explorers? For example, higher res textures, better shaders, bump mapping, dynamic lighting, etc?

Yes, there will likely be a pretty large visual disparity between high end systems and low end ones. We are mainly developing for mid to high end PCs, with pretty high res textures and as much graphical bells and whistles we can do, within reason, and we'll mostly just remove that stuff on the low end systems so that the game can still be played and enjoyed, but just won't look as pretty.

I think the insightfulness of this open development process is really great!
