(I'm 15, by the way)
But, i cant seem to get it too work on Internet games....
I can get it too work on LAN games, but, when i ask ppl on Internet games they say they can't hear me. Is it a volume prob?
I want to get a new one just because. Probably give my current one ot my friend if so.
I used to be embarassed to use it, because I'm 14, but no one really cares, except jerks.
And the best thing is that you can sing!
I was just in a game where the commander had his volume up REALLY loud - I could hear what I was saying through his mic when he talked. And after coming through 2 mics, it still sounded clear.
The mic is reasonable quality, but like everyone seems to be commenting the audio compression used in voice-over-ip programs including halflife's internal system makes everyone sound like a 15yo with a cold. Except all those younger gamers, whom I can't help but giggle at when playing hardcore Day of Defeat games and hearing "watch out there's a sniper up in the window' in the high piping voice of the under-13s
One of these day I'll figure out how to jigger my sound card's audio pipe to modulate the mic input, and make my ingame voice sound like Lord Deimos from that awesome arcade/N64 game "Mace: The Dark Age".
Oh yeah - and i find it's easier to get important information to the team via the typed chat rather than voice comms, people tend to ignore voice sometimes especially when its being spammed by someone 'in the know' on the server.
LOL
I use a Koss headset, works pretty nicely too.
Koss SW-5 headset
Heheh, bought it at a radio shack down the street from me for 10 bucks lol
