I'd like to see a more convenient way of doing custom searches from the server browser in NS2.

So, entering something like:
mod:NS2+ mod:-"Marine vs Marine" maxplayers:8-16 currentplayers:3-16 full=no etc.
would show all servers
a) running NS2+
b) but not running "Marine vs Marine"
c) with 8-16 max players
d) with 3-16 current players
e) and not full

This filter could work with the existing search buttons/fields.

P.S. Bonus points if you can save filters.

    This is more convenient?

From a UI/UX standpoint this wouldn't be very helpful to any but the crowd that are used to typing commands of this sort into command-line based programs.

If anything, I'd prefer to see an expandable filters panel that can do everything you want it to with a far more friendly and intuitive interface.

If enough users have need for certain additional filter options, I am definitely in favor of making them a first class UI option as you desire. However, until then, I (and others, I'm certain) would be happy to use something less "user friendly". Also, the field can have context sensitive help to get less savvy users familiar with its basic usage.

P.S. The amount of work necessary to provide all of the options in a user-friendly fashion UI is enormous and tedious. The amount of work necessary to add the filtering I described could be done in hours, and would be very easy to enhance later.

Fair enough. I could get onboard if this would be able to segway into a full blow UI adjustment. (eg. if the functionality was there someone (cough cough @mendasp) could make a mod to turn it into a ui.)
