Force random teams when the game goes on sale.

Every time NS2 goes on sale, we get a flood of new players, which makes it very difficult to have a balanced game. To make matters worse, the new players don't know how to vote, or how to call for a vote, so they don't use the in game options available to them to even the teams.

My proposal is to force random (or even) teams for the day of a sale and a day or two after until the new players are a little better integrated.

Disable green-voting altogether and also dont count them as being part of the vote-pool.
Or is that a slightly dictatoresk suggestion?

I feel like there's a potential for it to make worse stacks. If there are admins on the server they can force the random. I've also found that just using my mic and telling all the rookies to hit F1 to vote yes to get even'ish teams has worked really well.

Once our new hive system is up (next patch!?) I feel like it could work really well to just force the Force Even Teams, but even still, I feel it should be up to the server operators to choose to implement this.

Some rookies are uncommunicative and kind of awful. However a lot of them are wonderful and excited to learn. When people speak up and share with them how to vote // why they should vote yes/no, most of them do well.
