Eggs unprotected in Combat Mode?

Can someone enlighten me why Marines get spawn protection in Combat Mode the very same microsecond they spawn, but alien eggs, before they hatch are unprotected (which ooften takes like 2-3 seconds) and then they get spawn protection. If you rush the hive with enough marines, few focus on the eggs and the rest just hits the hive. Aliens will instantly lose every single time (as observed in several matches so far). But if you do the same rush on marines, sooner or later they will decimate your team because they can shoot while they are spawn protected. What's the deal with this? I don't think it's intentional, it feels more like something is broken...

    Combat will do as Combat pleases! But seriously though, they're not supporting the mod anymore, so no more work will be done on it. The stand alone version will be much better, I hope.

    Combat is broken. Its been unsupported for months now. I think it is only maintained to stay running.

    Well, Combat mode certainly has its good points when you just want to manage upgrades the way you like it and when you just want to kill others without much of team tactics and lenghty game progress. It's also good way to train. So, if there are plans for proper Combat mode, i'm all for it for as long as it will be maintained.
