@Kalopsia well those individuals can use the low lights option then.
I miss the ambience from beta /launch days, before everything got a NSL-like-pass

I could imagine how much of a difference it's become since then. I never got to really play back then but, is there any good footage showing the "horror/survival" of NS2 back then?
Just turn the lights on to high and turn on all your graphics settings to max. The immersion effects are still there in non-NS2+ servers. The NSL pass on most maps is just if you turn the light quality to low. You're going to get really low framerates overall on max settings but it looks really sweet.

It does look beautiful. I have a powerful enough CPU, but need more pixel power to run it with everything high, but I can do most stuff high and it looks great.
Please keep this dark. I loved how dark Nothing was.
Already getting complaints from people saying it's too dark :P
Well NS2 is missing a slider in the options to control the gamma/brightness/contrast settings. It's hard to gauge peoples feedback when what you see on your screen will be different from everyone else, unless you have similar settings/monitor. When you have a game like NS2 that has a lot of dark areas to the set the atmosphere of the map, missing possible options like the ones mentioned just doesn't make any sense.
Look at a game like L4D2 where a lot of the experience in immersing yourself is based on settings the mood and atmosphere with proper dark scenes. So they include this to make sure the user at least get close to the experience they want you to have:
Myself, I like like a very low brightness for desktop use at around 30/100. This doesn't carry over well at all to NS2 and makes everything super dark and crushes a lot of the black/dark areas. I have a custom profile I use just for NS2, but most people don't even know or care about settings on their monitors. It's also a serious pain in the ass switching profiles through the monitor OSD every time you want to play a game.

I will have the next update available mid April.
My first NS1 map I ever played was Bast.
Anyone else remember that wonky turnstile door, and the water dripping in atmospheric?
