[Windows 7 x64][Resolved] Game Stops Responding on Launch

After a long period of not playing NS2, I decided to redownload it. I've started having this issue though, where the game simply does not manage to even make it to the main menu. I can see the icon for the game pop up at the toolbar on the bottom, and there's a window, but it's completely black and does not respond at all. I'm really confused because when I played this before the game worked fine, this has not been an issue I've had before at all. If you need it, I can use the techsupport.exe to get any possible issues there might be.

Did you change your graphics card during this NS-free period? Are your drivers up to date?

Perhaps this thread can help you to reset your graphics do default settings (the third post)

I didn't change the graphics card, but I did have to revert to an older driver because one of the newer nvidia ones kept screwing with my computer.

Okay, I attached it IronHorse.

Also, I updated the graphics driver, and it's still not responding when I try and start the game.

Okay, manually changed the settings to use Direct3D, and now it's working. Thanks Alnair.
