Shade Changed To Dense Fog

I propose that instead of the shade turning everything in the room invisible, it deploys a thick fog instead. Marines will only be able to see about 5 feet ahead. This will make coming upon a room with a shade eery and make marines use caution as aliens can see with alien vision. Now to combat this I've thought of two ideas, 1 is that marines can research infrared vision, which allows them to scan rooms like alien vision but being unable to see through walls. This would cost around 5-10 res so that not every marine would have it unless they actually come across a shaded room. 2 is a high powered flashlight upgrade, has to be bought but allows you to see an extra 5-10 feet through the fog. I feel this would enhance the already dark atmosphere of the game and create a new game-play mechanic that will challenge aliens and marines alike. Now if a marine walks by a hallway and sees fog he will become cautious, going into that room blind would be a death sentence. Same for aliens giving away there position because of the seeping fog. Also now instead of marines charging in shooting everything in sight there main objective will be to find and eliminate the shade first before proceeding. Thoughts, any ideas on how to improve this. I... actually like this idea.....

It would also be helpful for rookies.... They generally have such a hard time with concept of an invisible base until a whip hits em.

But, I don't like your suggestions on the counters to it.

My suggestions off the top of my head:
Normal flashlights should increase seeing range slightly....
Flame Throwers and explosions destroy small patches of the mist at a time. *not the entire room
Shooting the shade stops more from spawning but does not remove the effects of the previously produced mist.
Mist dissipates starting with the farthest off mist.
Shooting pushes the mist very slightly in the cone of the shot. *making the very small fire cone the only visibility when shooting

Note the mist will be costly on the engine, coding, and designing and is all together not worth the hassle but is an awesome idea.

My bestest suggestion to this would to have cloaking and fog to buff shadez hivez even morez. Evenz better would be to put hallucinations in fog! Then shade hive would be every start.

Everything on this idea sounds incredibly stupid. Not only are you risking major performance hits, but a Shade is suppose to hide structures so that no one knows they're there. Not put a giant sign saying there's something there.

The main Marine objective anyways is usually to kill the Shade, unless you find the Crag first. However, since you can't see the crag you'll probably want to disable the Shade (This huge structure you just can't miss walking into/accidentally shooting) so you can find the crag.
