Game hard crashes computer when exiting

Not sure what's causing this problem, but NS2 completely freezes my computer on exit requiring a reboot. Any ideas?

i5-4650K @‌ stock voltage
nvidia gtx 460
8gb 1600mhz ddr3
Windows 7 64bit

    The usual logs would be sweet.
    Also, check the windows logs, there ought to be something there too.

    I seem to get the same problem when I type "quit" to console. NS2 freezes and I have to boot up, unable to open task manager or anything else for that matter. Doesn't happen every time though, just randomly. However, disconnecting from a server and quitting normally works without a problem.

    Think I solved it. I just disabled the windows defender service and it seems to not hang on exit anymore. Thanks for the help guys.
