hi,
My project is supposed to be on-line but : I end up always and forever it seems to be stopped by the almighty "error code 16". Publishing seems a lot harder than it is supposed to be.
*I tried as suggested on forums to "brute force publish". 2 weeks, above 500 clicks on the button (choosing carefully time of day etc.) and still nothing.
*I tried to rebuild the mod with a fresh new directory in launchpad. No luck.
*I tried to delete the on-line workshop item (early version) and re-publish (as suggested also on forums). Still nothing after a day or two of everlasting brute force publishing.
-> So now i have NOTHING on-line !
There is not link wherever to get proper support from both companies (Steam / UWE).
Steam Forums threads seems to be washed out while the issue seems to persist for a lot of people (many publisher, many games). Anything that talk about it is just useless.
The solution proposed for the trouble are far from being: 1 logical, 2 with proper troubleshooting inside.
I can't believe a stupid FTP (Or http) server can be busy 24/7. It is simply ridiculous while on other game it's working fine! I do understand the frustration of many publisher while passing huge amount of time on their mod and get this error code 16 all day long. It's like 7/11 anytime is the same thing.
Not to mention the quit issue. If you quit launchpad and try to quit Steam, Steam say it waits for NS2 to close... Apparently a lot of "Builder.exe" are in memory unless you file/exit properly ...
For what it's worth i attached the file on this post.
Any help ?
Yes the Devs can answer on this as we can only use the launch pad tool instead of a manual upload method. I have nothing against the one button philosophy as long a it is WORKING ! No wonder community shrinks.

What i can offer you:
i could upload the mod to workshop for you and set you as creator, so it would be up at workshop and you can update it yourself as soon as you can upload to workshop.
If you want my help, add me (GhoulofGSG9) at Steam
Are you sure you are publishing as Public.
And you know setting someone as creator also doesn't work right...
It does ... . Most just don't know how to use it right :P
I tried every single setting (public/.../private) -> error code 16
I found multiple process "builder.exe" (5 i think) while i don't often use launchpad (except trying to publish) Win7 /64b.
Frankly i don't care anymore as long as it can work. Compiled all together, i put in this project about 3 weeks full time (8h)... to see this. I do understand other mappers frustration as i am now.
But evidently no one knows how to solve this issue. How's that for a support. That leaves me with no voice while it should be properly addressed (or at least know what's going on). Not only for NS2 but every game (for some it works fine).
When it's sale time no one has issues to enter the Visa Digits and get charged seconds away from validation. I'm not asking for high bandwidth or huge data storage. Just the tool to work properly.
It's a shame when even if my map won't won the 1st prize (if any), at least it show community activity. Who would buy a dead match game (no 1st person scenario) if there's no one to play with and no extra content ?
So if anyone has the recipe to get it on-line again (like do that, click here) i'm all ears.
Also the thread title has me all up in arms to get my Cowboy Bebop DVD's from the shelf...
Have you checked your routers/firewalls etc. etc.?
But this morning... it worked... i feel weird. not because i used to be frustrated by that; but because i fear it's 1 upload successful for many unsuccessful to come....
What about all the others? :-/
