I agree with most of what you said, except requiring servers to be over 18 slots, because that's is just a bad idea/
Simply do not join servers that have high lag, simple. Remember, lag can be in 2 forms: Connection lag, which means poor connection and has to do with, you know, your internet connection or servers connection; The other one is more to the server's host computer, and unlike the former this does not usually show up in ping. This is usually caused by a weak cpu (afaik).
