Global Stat Tracking?

Does anyone know if there is some kind of global stat tracking program that keeps track of (among other things) the win loss ratio of aliens vs. marines in competitive games? Discussions of balance would be much more productive if we could cite statistics from competitive games. I'm thinking some kind of program that keeps track of at what point in a given game various things happen (upgrades being researched, res towers getting destroyed, marines & aliens getting killed, etc.)

I have yet to find such a program, though I have heard that the overall win/loss ratio of marines to aliens was one of the primary reasons for nerfing aliens so much since release.

Having access to that kind of data about average research times of certain tech milestones, average lifespan of various lifeforms as well as their average damage, kills, and assists per life, etc. would be tremendously helpful in guiding balance discussions. It would give ourselves and the developers actual information to reference when trying to balance various elements of the game.

Does anyone know of such a program, and if so, do you know where I could access that kind of information? If not, does anyone know roughly how long it would take to create such a program?

ns2stats is actually a pretty bad example. it has a very incomplete set of data and does not accurately represent the overall win/loss ratio. I still wish uwe would make the complete data available

That's not true. NS2 stats is the best stats there is.

if by that you mean "the only available" i guess one has to agree. I just dont trust it. At some point it had a *2 modifier for marine or alien wins and that totally screwed up all stats. It also used to run on mostly 24 player servers, which have a completely different balance than "normal" servers. Traditionally the ns2stats servers where also higher skill servers than the average server.

He's asking for competitive in particular which ns2stats is perfect for since it has a filter for it.

pfew, tx for that confirmation. Now i can rip again.. :p

Gotta renew my domains after i get payed, if the .org is still free i might consider buying and redirecting it since .org still lingers in our minds ;)

edit: that 'might' just became very small since apparently it goes for 280$ (0.0)
