Sounds llke a cool idea. But if you already have so many hives you can just start blowing them up at random, I dont think the marines would be able to leave their base by that point (and would already be losing)

the chair exploding for a concede would be pretty cool. hm, what about everything exploding at random intervals? I don't know what kind of performance hit this would take (although it would be post game). the loudness/coolness of the explosion would be relative to how large the structure is, so it sounds (and hopefully looks) kind of like fireworks.

Maybe if marines concede the command chair would detonate a nuclear warhead killing everything. and everyone could watch a huge explosion in automatic spectator mode. It would be pointless but pretty.

I wouldn't mind a small animation with the command chair exploding and bursting out into little metal fragments, sort of like how the hive does now. The current chair death is rather... lacklustre. Also +1 on hive/chair death on concede.
