Display steam friends' names on minimap

Hey,
just a quick feature, I've been thinking about.
I've started playing with my friends recently, and I think it would be nice to have their names displayed on the map/minimap for easier grouping. (as a normal player, cos commanders already see names)
So instead of asking every time, 'where are you', we could see steam friends' names on the map, and this would save us time and make coordinated play between friends easier (and thus improving the overall team performance.)

    It might be nice when you first start and you only know 1-2 people in a 24 man server, but it would get irritating fast. When you get into a server and know half the server, or you aren't playing on huge servers, it would just be more clutter.

    And to be honest, once you learn the maps, it's easy to go "Hey I'm in ________" and you can easily catch up. So again, while it would be nice at first, it will only be used briefly. The amount of work it would take to integrate this wouldn't really be worthwhile.

    Just turn friendly player icon green for if they are on your friends list when looking at map. Also turn their nameplate green when you see them in first person?

    I like this idea. A green arrow for friends would be a nice touch.

    Or have an option to turn it off or deselect certain people.
