"Build 261 may go live in about 5 hours, possible final testing happening at the moment."

What are your guys thoughts on this? Obviously we love these updates, but changing things immediately after a sale (with another ongoing)?

Hopefully, this won't be like the 'reinforced patch' coinciding with a free weekend... we all remember how that turned out. I like to think they're not stuck a deadline and have had time to iron out the bugs. It's not going to be to the same scale as reinforced so that reduces the chances of game breaking bugs getting through testing but I can't help feel a little nervous given previous experiences.

Imho Update > Sale. Also new ppl see that the devs are caring about this game. Which is in my eyes a good thing.

At the moment, i can't really judge the decision. I don't know what the update will contain, or if it's broken. I will say, that generally, i'd put the priority on updates too, but i'd want to be certain beyond doubt that it was working correctly. The last thing we want is to deter new players with broken mechanics or poor performance, however temporary especially seeing as it is available from as little as a Dollar. Most won't think twice about shelving it if it runs poorly at that price.

What makes you think this bug will introduce more bugs? B260 was great.

Well, it's not a huge content patch like previous times. Mainly bugfixes and stuff, so it should be all right. ;)

I am hoping for commander key bindings and seperate sensitivity settings. Again.
    This is the 3rd time.

Oh and is that a good idea? Patching the game right after the game goes on sale at HIB?

I was hoping for a fix for one of the most moronic control issues in this game - the fact that you need to switch weapons to defend with bone shield, and switch weapons again to attack. Whoever invented this should be hanged.

Nothing wrong here as it obviously isn't major like reinforced.

You could always just make a script if it really bugs you that much. I assume the reason for it is because it's not all that hard to bone-sheild quickly as it is - so they probably didn't think it would be a requested feature, let alone a hangable offense - and the other 'one click' move buttons are all occupied for the onos (shift for charge, right click for stomp), so would have to create a new one just for bone-shield - although I wouldn't mind as they could use it for vortex too which probably has a greater need for said convenience.

BACK IN MY DAY WE HAD TO MANUALLY CHANGE WEAPONS TO BLINK AND LEAP AND HAD TO WALK 12 MILES UPHILL IN THE SNOW THERE AND BACK JUST TO PLAY NS2. Kids these days!

    Probably some performance improvements mostly.

From Hugh's build 261 playtest video:
261 features improved melee collision detection, better commander keybinding options, reduce early game hitching, and more.
