Teamwork, Some Guidelines

When commanding on public servers, I get to see ALOT of poor marine players, and not just only those who run around by themselves, getting killed repetedly. Even marines who stick togheter can be bad players. Here's how it works.
* WELD YOUR TEAMMATES
While this might seem like a trivial thing it's amazing how often people forget to weld their teammates. Make it a habit to always weld your teammates after a battle.
* DONT WASTE YOUR AMMO
This is the most common misstake I see. Three or Four marines working togheter, all of them wasting their ammo on a defensive wall. When they all reload, some skulks rush out and kill them all. VERY professional, and the team just lost over 150RP's in heavy armors, HMG's, GL's and welders <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
* DEFEND YOUR TEAMMATES **obscenity**!
Cover your teammates while building or wrecking buildings. This ALWAYS happens on public servers. People never seem to understand that you DIE if you don't have someone to cover you!
* TAKE ONE FOR THE TEAM
You are a marine. You don't get frags, and who cares about score anyway? Don't be afraid to die. If you got a LMG and are in a situation where you can choose to save a teammate with a good weapon / armor, rush in and take one for the team. If you can save resources by sacrificing yourself, then do so. Suicide runs can also be good at times, rush with a LMG and try and destroy as many offensive chambers, resource towers and gorges as you can, this is really useful early in the game, before the gorges have started building defense chambers.
* ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK
Unless your commander gives you an order to defend or stay at a certain location, always ATTACK goto hotspots where you know the enemy is, or just scout around the map in search of lone gorges and resource towers. Try and form up small squads with other players, talk to them, and try to stick to that player for the rest of the game. The commander always notice this kind of behaviour and will do his best to aid people who stick togheter, and will most likely favour them and hand out better equipment to them.
NEVER EVER idle in the base, unless you know the commander is going to drop armor and weapons. Instead goto forward bases and make yourself useful.
* FORWARD TURRET FACTORY's
This is something i REALLY hate. I want to be sneaky and build up a TF near an enemy base without being noticed. I ask three or so marines to build this turret factory and defend it. First thing that happens once the TF is done, there's some incredibly smart marine who rush into the hive, guns blazing. Even if he destroy defensive structures and kill som skulkers, it's a stupid thing to do, since it alerts the enemy of our presence in the area... If the commander tells you to defend, then DEFEND, don't rush of, even if you have a chance to do some serious damage.
