Lerk Deathmatch

I know very little about LUA so I am just pitching this idea. Basically both teams only spawn as lerks, game speed is slowed down and damage is reduced. First team to x amount of kills wins and everyone enjoys dogfights and listens to danger zone. New maps could be easily made to support this mod as you could just isolate landing pad, central drilling and lava falls as initial maps.

    No need to slow down the game though. That'd be poor practice and the anti thesis of the lerk

    You can do this already by typing
    cheats 1
    lerk
    damage (then some multiplier here, so you can play with it to test)

    Now go play danger zone in the background :-P
    You can even just edit the existing maps and basically delete/ crop out the parts you want.
    Meaning.. you have to do minimal LUA, if it all, to get a fully fledged mod.. 90% of it is already do able just through console commands. :)

    We prototyped this last night at gibs' server. We had to spawn eggs for the marines and once you die it forces you onto aliens so we had to use the honor system and trust people to F4 if they got shot down. We tried it at several speeds and found that at a slight speed decrease the battles felt more epic. I agree speed and damage wouldn't have to be coded since it is so easy to do server side and is better left to the admin's discretion. All that really needs to be done in LUA is to force both teams to spawn/respawn as lerks, and have the game end at a specified number of kills.
