Unable to Use Shadow Lerk/Gorge Skins...

So I purchased the Shadow Tier upgrade when the Reinforced upgrade first became available and I have all of the keys redeemed etc. Badge shows up fine, I can use the shadow skulk skin perfectly fine but I don't have have an option to change skins for lerk or skulk in the general tab. Is the skin supposed to be tied to skulks or am I just missing something here? I reinstalled to see if that was the issue but alas, it did nothing. Perhaps I need to do a reinstall, plus registry wipe? Ugh...

No, there's an option for Lerk skin and Gorge skin. Try verifying cache with Steam.

It's weird... I'm having the exact opposite problem: my badges won't update, but I can get the skins! Go figure. :)

My condolences on your issues. I take it you are upgrading from your diamond badge? That could be a whole host of other problems, and when upgrading rewards it looks like it might get a bit dicey. All I can say is that if you got the diamond badge reward to work, simply rinse + repeating with the Shadow Tier rewards should work I assume. Though if you did try that and it's still borked I am at a loss to aid you.
That being said, I did verify and everything checked out alright. I've had the game since the beta version on Steam so I don't know if that might cause a problem (as in, when the reward was only the Black armor then they grand-fathered in those people for deluxe editions thankfully!). I just uninstalled (again) and cleared the registry as well as removed everything from the %appdata/roaming for NS2. Reinstalling (again) to see if it does anything...

It may take a day.. it did with mine at least.
Or some odd number of hours.. i just gave it some period of time that was less than a day and then i was able to select the proper skins.

Well, I am unsure what was fixed the problem, be it time or starting from a clean slate, but the options are in the menu finally. So yay! Problem solved.

Edit: Just kidding? I launched it and the settings were there, then I closed and restarted (since I had to redo my graphical settings) and now it's back to only the skulk and marine skin types as being available. I just did a test with deleting the NS2 folder in %AppData/Roaming and it seems to be an issue there. Once I delete the folder and launch the game, the options are there, but when I have the data in the roaming folder after a launch without deleting the AppData folder first, it wipes the options to change lerk and gorges skins off completely.

As evidenced in my post edit above, my problem actually didn't fix itself. Much to my dismay. It has something to do with the Roaming AppData for NS2. I am not sure what though, as the only thing that has seemingly fixed the problem is the entire contents of the folder not even existing. Though with a quick test for joining a match, the data adds itself back in and removes the options and subsequently does not enable me to use the skins (provided I could use the skins in game, it would have been a temporary, and not desirable fix, but a fix nonetheless), which I honestly expected but it was worth a shot. I suppose I'll keep an eye to see if it resolves itself over the next few days but if not, it may be indicative of a different issue. Unless somebody has some sort of sterling insight into the problem.
Edit: From all appearances, the problem seemed to be connected in some way to the old badge mods I had active. Getting rid of them seemed to fix the problem, though why the nostalgia badge pack and scoreboard badge pack interfered with my options menu is beyond me.

So the problem is 100% fixed now after you removed the badge mods you had installed, yes?
    Oh mods...

Bagde mod hasn't be updated since a while , also you shouldn't enable those "server" mod on your client.

Well I had the mods as subscribed but not active, so I didn't think they would actually interfere with anything since I assumed they would not be used. It wasn't until I unsubscribed from them AND deleted their corresponding files in the workshop folder in %AppData/Roaming/NS2 did the problem go away, which makes perfect sense in some way I am sure, I just wasn't aware of mod-loading being a particular issue in the case of inactive mods.

@IronHorse: Yes, it does seem that the problem is 100% fixed now. Though I'm having difficulty finding a server to test out the skins to make doubly sure, but I am relatively certain the problem is gone.

Do you remember which mod it was? Perhaps we can recreate the problem and fix it

    I'm having a similar problem:

Bought Reinforced Shadow Badge back when it was announced. Badges show in-game. I could use all the skins just fine until a few weeks ago, since then I wasn't able to select the Elite Assault marine (the option doesn't show up anymore). Every other model was selectable (Deluxe, Assault, Shadow Skulk).

With the release of the new shadow models the problem persists plus I can't select the new Lerk and Gorge models, when I click "normal" the arrows just disappear and I can't change anything.

So, presently I'm able to select Assault marine, Deluxe Marine and Shadow Skulk. I can't select Elite Assault Marine (does not show option), Shadow Lerk and Shadow Gorge (stays on "normal").

    No mods active.
Deleting the %AppData/Roaming folder had no effect.

    Halp!

Are you refering to this file?

Tried deleting steam userdata/4920 to no avail. Verified cache. Reinstalled. Didn't solve the problem. Could this be due to Steam being installed on a different HDD then NS2?

Could you go through the first time registration steps again as if it were your first time setting up the badges?
Meaning follow the link you received in the email and go through these steps again:
    Tc84EvP.jpg

    THEN, afterwards go to http://hive.naturalselection2.com/redeem-badges

Hehe just remember that the Hydra and clog models didn't make it in due to an error, just the textures. Next patch will remedy this
