Something I just noticed recently... (Using launchpad vs copying tons of custom stuff back n forth)

...but am only getting around to writing it today: Launch Pad is amazing!

Okay okay, it's not a huge deal, but I have a few custom assets in my map, and for me, it was a HUGE pain in the butt to keep having to copy everything between my map's respective output directories (eg models, cinematics, etc.) and ns2's respective directories, so that they would actually show up in the editor.

BUT! If you run the editor though launch pad... IT INCLUDES THEM!!! :D !!!!!!!!!!! (so stuff in your models directory is included (though NOT copied over) with the models in the ns2 directory, so it all appears together in the prop browser, for example)

Nothing ground-breaking, but if you didn't know that before... you're welcome!

Thank you! (but unfortunately i am not using custom made stuff... dammit ;) )

EDIT: you should probably change your thread title... otherwise people will not find this threat so easily again.

Wait...you didn't know this? What have you been using? Builder and setting up paths everytime? ~X( . You have been making your life so much harder.
How do you know all these super helpful things in the editor but not know about the LaunchPad :P Just kidding, yes, it does copy them over, and YES, it's pretty awesome.
If you have an editor_setup.xml in your mod's folder, it will use it also, meaning that you can use custom entities. Basically set's your mod folder as the default ns2 directory, so viewer and cinematic editor will also work, and updates in realtime sometimes, or just be a quick restart. DISCLAIMER: your ns2 hours will be "slightly" skewed if you map a lot, as it thinks you are playing the game :D

I always launched builder from launchpad, but right off the bat, when I started mapping, I made a shortcut on my desktop for the editor -- not the launchpad, so I always started the editor with that.
