Update Frequency Suggestion

I would like to make a suggestion which would slightly ease the pressure on mod makers and players of the game in general regarding the frequency with which you update.

There is almost always a mechanic, balance or map change in an update, which affects modders and they need to fix their game, affects players as they need to adapt their style again (Natural Selection, Survival Of The Fittest, learn how to play a new game every week!! :D).

I would like to propose that with the exception of game urgent bug/balance fixes that you shift to a monthly update cycle. Unless something really needs urgently fixing, once a month would enable the modders to prepare for their monthly round of updates, and be able to allot the rest of their spare time to creating their mod.

I know you don't like to be late with your updates, but I think we are at a stage where updating every week seems to be done out of some sense of responsibility, rather than of an actual need to update the game.

I would be very grateful if you would consider this change, it would also put far less pressure on yourselves and the playtest teams, as so much time is lost to preparing the update for release, that over a period of time, the cost of weekly updating is huge, in time and effort, and emotion.

Edit

If you could also add a Diff file of the changes, that would really help :D

Since when are we getting weekly updates... they are already monthly... why would I ever want a patch to be delayed just so that modders can know when to expect a patch that is announced that they know is coming.

Oh my bad, I haven't been playing NS2 for a while as I didn't have the PC or net connection, now I've started modding again, I was beginning to panic about update tuesday.. :P

Ok, no worries, nothing to see here :) Although I'd still like to see the diff file (which I edited in while you were replying :P)

Diff file would be way too time consuming when you can just see the dates of what files got updated and what got updated by comparing using Notepad++ or another similar program
