Open up options.xml in Steam/userdata/userid/4940/options.xml and anywhere near the top add
To bind NextWeapon do the same thing,
Unfortunately found this out after I lost my options file due to moving Steam and it starting the game while not connected and overwriting.
<RequestWeld>KEY</RequestWeld>Key can be anything that is printed out when you type bind in the console. This wil add a bind to Request Weld in game. This is the only one that I know of that this works with, sadly, except NextWeapon. But it's still useful and not very known.
To bind NextWeapon do the same thing,
<NextWeapon>KEY</NextWeapon>Can be used to disable mouse wheel scroll. MouseZ can also be bound to any other function.

Does this work on normal marines too if I bind it to another key?
Meh, if there was more then 2-3 different attacks I'd have probably kept it, but mousewheel is pretty damn fast either way.
Edit for being a noob at binding and not knowing how to read
That doesn't work for me.
I did exactly as he wrote on the post, using F1.
yup
edit: got it now, it's case sensitive apparently
Many players just ignore the little yellow wrenches.
