Mouse Occasionally Locks up, only moving up and down, but no side-to-side

title says it all. At first I thought it was my mouse, or some driver issues with my computer.
It only happens occasionally - I will suddenly no longer be able to look left or right when moving my mouse. It only detects up, down, and click inputs.
The reason I believe this is NS2 related is I have now heard similar things happening to 5 different people at random times. The one thing I know we all have in common is NS2. I also never notice this happening outside of NS2 (though what am I saying, I almost never don't play NS2).
