Gorge Tunnel in a vent blocks access below

I couldn't cyst into Conduit on Refinery without going ALL the way round through Turbine. I took a video of this problem: 
I believe the problem is caused by the gorge tunnel up in the vent, and I noticed later that I couldn't get a drifter to go through directly either. The drifter ALSO wanted to go all the way around through Turbine.
So I guess all that needs to be done here is make it so gorge tunnels don't block cysts and drifters... which they shouldn't anyways because everything else can walk right over it, why can't drifters?
