Vsync Stutter/Microstutter

Greetings all.

Most of the time I can play with a solid 60 FPS but then out of nowhere it will "stutter" and drop to 59, often for no conceivable reason. It often disrupts the gameplay briefly. I have reasonable specs (i5@3.3ghz, 12gbRAM and a 770 Gtx) and am confused as to why this is happening.

I've tried some of the things on the forum such as running as administrator and setting it to high priority but they make little difference. If anyone has any ideas of things to try please share them.

Many thanks in advance.

    Could you add a tech_support.zip ?

Found how to do it thanks to the stickied post. The zip is attached.

Ok thanks, there is not really anything in log other than this:
Error: Attempted to load remote options from a file that does not exist.

So first try this: Try resetting your options file. Delete this folder: /Steam/userdata/<steamid>/4920 (resets options by generating a new options.xml the next time you start NS2)

Then i would ask you to turn off vsync (in fact it's not a good idea to turn it on in most cases) and to run the game with r_stats in the console. Take a screenshot (default = F12) and post it here.

    Also try out DX11.

More steps to find the source of your problem will follow.

Many thanks for the help so far. Vsync off made it run ok but there was still the occasional stutter and my cpu was getting quite hot (~64oC) (unless this is expected).
