running through cloaked cysts

I had a game yesterday on Summit where the alien commander placed a shade next to a gorge tunnel by the south vent opening in flight Control. I would never have found it except for I was running and I ran through the infestation - causing the squishy footsteps and on-screen effect.

Is this a bug or working as intended?

    The squishy sounds and on screen effect of wading through infestation, even while cloaked, are all intentional. :)
    Also, in the future, feel free to ask about these things in the stickied thread about bugs.

    Is it a problem i don't get those sounds/goo effects anymore?
    low on allz the fings and off when i can get it.

    I know its intentional and realistic, but man Shade would be a lot cooler if you didn't get the squishy squishes on the infestation.

    Indeed, the screen/sound effects instantly gives away that there is a shade and most likely something valuable in the room while the whole point of a shade is to hide it's existence.

    cloak is still useless even with this, 1-2 graphic settings and skulks glow fine and dandy in every light standing still :/
    eyecandy > gameplay best modern solutions.

    There's a difference between the 100% invisibility afforded by shades and the 95% cloak you get as a lifeform from phantom. The single biggest use of phantom is silence, in any case, the cloaking is just an added bonus for edge cases.

    What I'm not clear on is whether lifeforms get 100% invisibility from cloaks...
