I appears the in-game news feed shows the main news about the game, instead of the more current NS2 page news feed. It would be more handy to show the most up to date NS2 feed here inside the game:

Then people can see about the newest builds and changes, along with the other more recent information.

    I think the in-game news updates are done separately from the ns2 site news updates, so they must only be doing news for the big updates I think.
