NS2 Business Model

Hello. I couldn't find a similliar thread like this so i started a new one.
First of all i love NS2 and DEV team for bringing such a good product without Pay to play DLCs (Hello EA Games). And i wish this game to evolve because this game has a potential to become a Official Comptetive game featured in MLG, IE Masters tournaments and stuff. But in order to become a competetive game, you need to survive. What i'm trying to say is - you need a good business model like Valve's TF2 or Dota 2. YOu need some kind of In-game store with cosmetical thingies and stuff.
