Build 252, Optimization screen shows up but will not allow me to click it. Other menus do not load.

Hi Guys
I just recently re-installed NS2 and I when I booted up the game I was greeted with the optimization screen. If I go to click on optimize nothing happens at all, if I click Skip the popup vanishes, but as soon as I open any other menu in the game, the menu opens but nothing loads and I'm left looking inside the space station with nothing to do except Alt +F4.
I've Deleted the setting file in app-data and had no luck fixing this problem, I'm thinking the only thing left to do is another re-install. I've also run a re-verification in steam but no files were found to be missing.
If anyone's got this problem or can maybe suggest something to fix it, it would be greatly appreciated
