Found a workaround!
http://virtualaudiostream.com/
Download that
Go into first stream options

Then change your settings so it's similar to this:

With your recording device being w/e you have, for me it's my PS.Eye
When you've done that, drag the pins to each other to connect the audio.

OR alternately, just watch this.

Is the mic the standard recording device in windows Audio settings?
How is ns2 configured? default or did you select your mic?

It's my standard recording device. (it's my only recording device for at least 2 weeks!)
In ns2, i tried all the options, which is default, and selecting my mic, none of them even give up the notification to other people i'm broadcasting.
and once again: I can use the microphone with EVERY OTHER PROGRAM, but natural selection 2, has some problem.

Until the developers add support for the 16 bit 16000hz tape recorder quality that the CL Drivers set the PS3 EYE to or until the CL Drivers allow us to change the audio format (which may be a hardware limitation), the ps3 eye's mic will not work in NS2.

I have this problem as well.
Would love to get my MIC working somehow.

Ill double post 'cus Ive found a workaround for this.

You can download Virtual Audio Streaming.
    Install it.
Revert your playback to your default speakers.
Change default recording device to Rec. Play.
Start the Real Microphone Input in Virtual Audio Streaming.

It will now loop-back your microphone to the pseudo recording device.

Set new recording device in game.
Be happy at the moving voice bar.

If it works, it will do for now.
Maybe there is a more lightweight alternative around.
