My friend can't join any servers

My friend Albert described the issue to me that whatever he presses on the main menu, he is unable to go back. The back round is just shown. He sent me a video showing the problem. The game works fine for me, but since it isn't working for him, we cannot play together. He just got this game on sale and I want to teach it to him. He also verified the cache three times and the problem is still present.
