Feature request - toggle crouch

After watching a few skulk and fade tutorials that state that "you should always hold crouch when jumping", I think it's reasonable to make it a toggle function. Why should I always hold a key? Last game that forced me to do it was Doom 2. Then the devs learned and introduced "Always run" that is a defacto standard in shooters that do not use stealth. What does the necessity to hold a key adds to a game? Cramp to your fingers. Please consider it.

Speaking of which, I dislike how you gain speed while holding strafe to jumps. What is the reasoning behind such opaque design decisions? Why cannot my lifeform run at top speed just moving forward? What animal does this beside insects? It makes no sense, it adds nothing to the game, and it creates further barriers for new players.

Or the collision box can be fixed, and then there's no need for it unless you want to fit into vents or duck from a ceiling.

That could only help fades not skulks

There are times as marine when you're crouch walking for extended periods for silence, and toggle crouch would be convenient for that too.
Not just a fade exclusive thing.

IMO, toggle would be more annoying than hold. You could accidentally hit the toggle in a fight and essentially commit suicide by marine. Maybe I do not mind holding crouch since I have large(ish) hands. Who knows. lol

I don't see why it's not an option, but once you learn the movement mechanics I'm pretty sure it would be detrimental. There's next to nothing to be gained by strafe jumping speed-wise. But changing your trajectory on the other hand is lovely

    How about this:
    Toggle if tapped
    Hold if hold.
And let us pick which ones we want to enable toggling for.
    Problem solved.

Going along with some of the comments, I think there should at least be a toggle option in the menu.
