Is this still possible? I've tried it a couple of times but the beacon always seems to go ahead.

    When did it become possible? I thought NS2 always disallowed it, because faking out attacking aliens at no cost to yourself is cheap.

    Live NS2 always did (as far back as I recall) but you never know what BT has/had in it for even only an hour.

    Ok, now I have no more excuses not to be more careful with my bindings :)

    Doesn't matter anyways 'cuz I always panicked and flapped my hands at the keyboard and could never cancel the beacon in time.

    I do manage to accidentally recycle a couple of buildings instead, though, so it all checks out.

    Stupid question: why can't beacon be canceled?

    Because you could force aliens to leave with just the beacon (Onos leave immediately if they don't want to die) and don't give me that "They'll just come back in crap" because by then the hive is dead.

    :( I guess I'll keep accidentally beaconing then.

    There needs to be a way to bind beacon to something else... Don't know howany times iv gone to scan then checked my map(ah crap)...

    Create a binding menu for comma so I can bind beacon and hive upgrade to letters like jkl

    @Zaggy
    That used to be my Strat in NS1 to get people to PG back to base for defense.
    "PG back to base now for a free SG if you hold off the base rush", and the team comes back if they are near a PG.

    You realize that the aliens could tell if the marines cancelled the beacon right? Perhaps people are not as attentive as I thought....
