Game freezes right after menu!

When I start up NS2, everything works fine. But when I hit a menu option (Play, Practice, Options, Mods) the option makes an animation but just stops on the upper right side of the screen like this. The sounds and animations work fine, (Like the drone fixing the the background) but the game does not advance at all. The only menu option I can get to work is the Exit option, which isn't much help. I tried reinstalling the game from steam, but it still freezes. The game worked fine when it was in free weekend for me a couple months ago.

Uninstall NS2 and delete the NS2 folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common. Re Download and install the game.
This should get you playing again.

The answer is literally in 3 different threads on the first page of tech support, you didnt even need to use the search function..

edit: If the above solution does not work, then do as @JCD said and manually delete everything, to include your hidden %appdata%\Natural selection 2\ folder.

Ok thanks guys, that worked and I didn't even have to delete the appdata. Case Closed
