Very low FPS (pics of profile attached inside, along with details of what I've tried)

Hi, I bought NS2 today and tried it out. The FPS in the menu is fine (90+ I think) but it plummets once I'm inside the game (I've only been trying out Practice mode against bots).

I tried lowering all the graphics settings, turning Vsync off, trying out both options of multicore processing and of texture streaming, but even at a low resolution of 1280x720, my FPS is still ~13.

I searched around on Google and tried some of the suggestions offered on this forum. Started by typing the following commands in the console:

r_atmospherics false
r_bloom false
r_shadows false
r_instancing true
r_fog false
r_aa false

The FPS remained low. I also tried changing Nvidia control panel settings for NS2 (although my control panel seems slightly different than the image that's on these forums, so here, I'm attaching pictures that show what I changed my settings to):

Still no luck. I then followed the suggestion of writing (without quotes) "Start /high NS2.exe" in Notepad (or do I have to use the program "Notepath"? If that's what I need to use, can you please tell me how to use it?). Saved the notepad file as .bat and copied it in the NS2 folder. Used the .bat file to run NS2. FPS still remained low.

I've now gotten screenshots using the "profile" command in the console. Here they are:

So, any suggestions on what's causing my low FPS and what I can do now?

Thanks for the info so far, could you also attach the output of start->run->dxdiag->Save all information and attach the dxdiag.txt here or use http://www.pastebin.com ?
Note: you might want to edit out any personal information.

Thanks for the reply. Here's the dxdiag file attached.

Well with that kind of hardware you are bound to have fps problems.
Your Gfx card is low, and the CPU is not really better.
Before 249 you would have gotten max 7 fps or even less.

Try explore mode (with no bots).
The bots use a lot of CPU, and I suspect the FPS loss is actually your CPU struggling to process the game AND the bots, rather than a graphics card issue.

You were right, sinkingmist! Without bots, the game worked fine, so I then tried to join a multiplayer game and found it works at a great speed (~60 FPS)! Thanks a lot!

Yeah your GPU in the profiler with 38 ms is going to cause tremendous lag D:

    Thats his garbage collector.
It runs when the system is "idle" or has very little to process.

@mintcal42 this game is CPU heavy, so bots will definitely drag you down.
That being said, you are below the minimum requirements for this game, "Core 2 Duo 2.6 ghz" you are running one at 2.2 ghz.

That and a "budget gpu" , you are going to have some issues running the game smoothly.

best of luck to ya though!
