Main Menu background broken

Buttons still work, but the background is screwed.

I installed all the Aliens themed mods that are in the collection. That is the Aliens Overhaul, Aliens Overhaul Patch and all the Colonial Marines mods, also the colored minimap. I activated it and played fine several times, but once I switched all these mods off the game didn't restart properly. Since then, my main menu looks like this even after quitting and restarting several times. Checked integrity, too. Uninstall, delete everything manually and reinstall game? Refrain from using mods?

Delete your Workshop folder found in your hidden %appdata%\Natural selection 2\ folder, disable steam cloud, and then try again.

    Thanks for your reply!
    1. Background is fixed now.
    2. Workshop is broken now. Mods won't download when I join a server so I drop out with "Missing required mods". Even when I subscribe to them manually it still says "unavailable". Restarting NS2 doesn't help either. I can't find servers without mods like NS2Stats or DAK or similar mods installed - is there even a way to filter for non-modded servers? Anyway, restarting Steam several times makes NS2 realize the mods are availabe, but it's kinda annoying to restart Steam all the time while your spot on the server is gone...

Go to the mods menu from the main menu, and deactivate and unsubscribe from every single thing.
    Exit NS2.
    Disable steam cloud updating.
    Delete that workshop folder again.

Now run NS2 and see if it works?

I deactivated everything, but I don't know how to unsubscribe from within NS2. Is that even possible? Clicking the YES doesn't change it to a NO. So I exit NS2 and unsubscribed from within the Steam Workshop interface.

    >Exit NS2.
    done

    >Disable steam cloud updating.
    done

    >Delete that workshop folder again.

    So far it works, thanks!

Going to the Steam Workshop interface was the right thing to do in that case :)
