I love how playing high ping on low ping servers seems to give the skulks longer teeth, and the onoses longer horns or recruiting horns. someone said, playing high ping trains you to react better than playing low ping. you dodge earlier because you have to.
Lag Horns! LOL Yeah man, def feel your pain on that one, haha
A bit off topic but what ping is the cutoff for you guys in NS2? Personally I say around 100 though I could go 110-120 if need be.
220 is ok to play at, not ideal, but I feel like if you have superior skill, on 220 (and maybe a bit more but hey, gotta lay down the line) you can win.

Yeah any more than that and it's pretty much a crapshoot, I feel like I have no idea what's really going on around me once I hit ~240.
ive got about 800 hours playing on servers where i have 200-280 ping, it takes getting used to with the higher ping though
definitely have a slight advantage as aliens, its a very small advantage though, mostly situational, where marines wont see you on their screen for like 1 or 2 seconds. The downside is that you will die around corners ALOT
Marines i almost always do better on low ping servers (when im lucky enough to find one during the times i can play). Also its difficult with a shotgun with high ping. On low ping servers i can dominate with a shotgun, not so on high ping servers
There seems to be alot of misinformation out there about high ping, so im glad this thread is clearing some things up. I think the reason for most of the misinformation is that people still compare todays gaming to how things were 10 years ago. Some people also like to use high ping as an excuse to undermine someones skill, ive been accused of having an advantage because of my high ping quite a few times. It doesnt even occur to them that i may just be better at the game, even with a high ping, considering the fact i was a counterstrike competitive gamer since CS 1.1, i played NS1 competitively since shortly after its launch with thousands of hours of experience, and ive got about 1300 hours already playing NS2 since beta .... yet apparently im not allowed to be good if my ping is too high -_-

I feel ya. There is the occasional "wow, you're good", but more often than not I'm either "hacking" or "that high ping bastard".
