Reward!

Hey Folks
Is it just me, or does there need a kind of reward when you finish a game. Like when you win a game, you get many point, when you lose you get few points. With those point you can buy stuff to costimize your character, like put some fancy colors/camouflage on your weapons for example. Put levels in the game which can keep players playing. Just some kind of reward for winning, which really gives player the extra push to want to win a match.
Atleast you could create a leaderboard in the game.

Hope some of you have some of the same thoughts as me.

Definitely needs a statistics attachment that tracks your k/d, w/l, etc... As for unlockable stuff, as long as it isn't achievement styled. It would have to either be a level system or a money system of buying. Both would work and increase loyalty.

I think micro transactions would be great for providing financial incentives to UWE, giving them motivation and additional funds to support the game for a longer period of time. Sales of the actual game undoubtedly decrease over time even with events like free-to-play weekends and press coverage of big updates. Besides funds, company-created cosmetics would provide standard compatibility on all servers (ex. the black/deluxe armor). On the other hand, mods on the Steam Workshop need to be whitelisted on servers before you can even use them.

Speaking of free Steam Workshop mods, I suppose it's against UWE's policy to sell cosmetics since they've always encouraged modding. User-created content is not always of the highest quality, though. With UWE creating their own cosmetics, we would almost be guaranteed high quality content. UWE could always hold contests to decide which user-created content is released via micro transactions as well, similar to Valve's TF2. This would promote modding even more and perhaps provide some financial incentive for talented modders.

Don't get me wrong, though; I'm not saying that UWE should start selling hats, crates, and keys. I'm not saying that modders should switch from making their favorite types of mods to solely making cosmetics for money either. I just think it would be fun to be able to customize our models further than the two marine armors that some of us have. Most of us play NS2 for the gameplay first and foremost either way, so would it really hurt for there to be more customization options?

Besides my rant above, I don't care much for level tracking unless it's used in a matchmaking system. Achievements are the worst thing to happen to games imo. Personal statistics, such as accuracy, are already available for view on ns2stats.org, but (I mentioned this already) you can only view them for servers that have ns2stats installed.
