Searching for some fade play that doesn't involve fades dying instantly vs weapons 1 shotguns...
I'll hold off saying that it seems like the fade is totally broken until I've seen more matches (1h worth of matches watched so far).
Fade is fine. I've only lost 2, maybe 3 fades at the most in my whole time playing BT. Once was because I was dumb and turned a corner into a 5 marine LMG ball and couldn't get away in time, and the only other time I can remember losing one is when I got blocked by a lerk and couldn't get out in time.
TBH, I think the new fade is much stronger than the old one. They nerfed the swipe damage to 75, I think if it was bumped back up to 81 people would cry about fades being OP.
Also, I think the reason no marines were getting cleared was because Snx is still getting used to the Fade in BT and were mis-timing attacks and not hitting the same marine when they went in.
I do know it was scary as hell playing against SG marines in the rounds I played though. :P
Having watched a lot more of these games, I'm still very concerned about how fragile fades are versus level 0 and level 1 shotguns specifically. If fades are to be useful, it seems there have to be 3 or 4 of them all together working in concert at all times. While the promotion of teamplay is great, the inability of a single fade or even two fades to be able to take on 1 marine is worrisome. Essentially, you have to ball up 135-180 res worth of lifeforms to be able to take on 40 res of marine investment, which just seems ridiculous. Even then, there's a very significant risk of losing 45-90 of those res in every single engagement.
I was rather hoping that in all the BT mod changes, we would see an increase in the diversity of strategies, but for marines specifically, shotguns are an absolute must as they destroy everything the aliens have if used even remotely well. It would be great to get away from this 'one upgrade is better than all the others' situation that vanilla is currently dogged with as well, and the BT mod is the place to try things to get away from that. It's good to see flamers and grenade launchers being used more, but the shotgun is still too ubiquitous, I think.
Carapace is another upgrade I'd really like to see changed. Replacing cara with a different upgrade would be beneficial (provided that armour then scales with biomass along with health to improve late game life-form scalability). Any upgrade that is a flat out effective HP boost is either too strong and always used or too weak and never used. This has already led to the stale cara gameplay in vanilla that is one of the key issues I think the BT mod is trying to resolve.
Moving away from the comp scene level of players, and I see horrendous fade deaths on the horizon for pubs. Nothing I've seen from the BT cup has so far helped to persuade me that this won't happen (and my own experience so far playing the BT mod has left me feeling that both the lerk and fade are significantly worse overall than in vanilla).
Single fades rounding the corner into a single level 1 lmg marine barely make it out alive sometimes (even the Godar fades in that Godar/snx round 4 match). That can't be right...

there are some small changes in numbers between HP of lifeforms and stuff which sewlek is telling anyone, because he does like 5 changes an hour with it.
So if he would change the changelog everytime he does .... would be madness.

this doesnt sound like much, but carapace fade only get +30 armor.
So you should see less fades die.
So if he would change the changelog everytime he does .... would be madness.
