Overlapping Stuff

how much can u get away with it
Hi, I'm new to NS mapping (but not to mapping in general).

Um, it said in the NS mapping guidelines that you can't have rooms/corridors overlapping because of commander view, but would it be all right to have something like a very narrow vent (an alien crawlspace). And if it is the vent itself that is blocked by a room, and marines could not get in that vent anyway, surely there's nothing wrong with hiding a narrow section from the commander?

That should be okay alot of the official maps have this just make sure you use the func_seethrough and make it a bit transparent.

You don't even need a func_seethrough in all cases-- parallax is often enough. Move the camera view around, and if you can access everything on the lower level from at least one location, it shouldn't be a problem

I think there is alot of stuff you can get away buy mimicry in NS maps, but what i hate is in hera how the command rooms floor is totaly transparent, it TOTALY puts me off and it wreckts it, so that was a mistake.
