Spectator bug? + idea

I've been speccing quite a few gathers over the last week and something that has been bothering me is that you can hear all the sounds that the player you are 1st person following BUT you cannot hear his/her footsteps or jumps. Is this a bug or is this intentional?
If it's intentional might I suggest adding it? I find that it helps give you an idea how the alien/marine moves without having to guesstimate the movement speed all the time... plus it gives you a better clue who is good walljumper and who is not.
Thanks!

And the suggestion for the spec I was thinking of was/is maybe more to help casters in their work. It is basically a feature seen in SC2 where you can select another spectator and follow his/her cam-movements.
This won't add much to the casting probably, but I think it is a nice option for casters so they can check what their co-caster is looking at without having to ask repeatedly in the course of the commenting.
PLUS, it will give me the oppourtunity to passive-spectate whilst I'm watching those Gathers ;)

Hope you like the idea!

It'd be interesting to spectate the alien or marine's current commander view. You can see where they are focusing and where they are not.

Before when there was no first person spectating you could actually spectate what commander was doing by holding down on his name. Just like when you wanted to spectate player from top view you needed to hold on to his name. Not possible anymore after spectating was updated some builds ago. Now clicking name of the player wont move your view to where he is(until you enter 1st person). If it would, then i guess we could still spectate commanders as well.

You can already do this if you click on one of the commanders on the sides and hold 2.
