quick question about clientside mods

i know there is no way at the moment to see if a server is modded and honestly most mods are either for admins or are just maps, but:
when i realize that the server i join is moded do i have to worry about people using clientside mods too?(you know, pink glowing skulks, invisible rifles, etc.)

Try to join servers that run extended consistency checking. There are quite a lot of them, I know that HBZ servers run it, for example. Hopefully some updates to the server browser might give us more control over which servers we join (ie before joining them and loading!), but I've no idea when such improvements will be incoming. I'm sure some helpful type who knows more than I do will pipe up, though.

I don't think there is any way of knowing what consistency checks the server has in place, however, most servers (modded or not) only allow HUD customizations such as different cross hairs. It's honestly not something worth getting yourself worried about.

If you mean alien lifeform textures, then yes it does (unless you are talking about the default consisitency check).

If you mean other textures not related to models, then probably not.

The default consistency check actually checks for everything except UI textures (crosshairs, backgrounds), and first person skins, so you can't texture hack if the server is using default consistency. The problem is some servers may be using the old defaults, which did not check for textures at all.
