Competetive play vs PUB play

Im sure this has been brought up before, but why can we have two different types of builds? One build for Competitive Play and one for Pub play.
I know build 245 nerfed the shit out of marines to make the 6v6 competitive play even, but what about Pubs? I think they got the short end of the stick. Could servers have the option to revert back to build 244 for PUB play when win rate for Aliens and Marines were pretty much 50/50? I believe now that Aliens have a much greater advantage in PUB play.
Am i alone on this and crazy or does the community agree?

    If this we're to happen, it would most likely split up the community into two groups. And people who want to join the competitive players at some point, have no way to learn how to play on the competitive games, because their public game would be different.

    Also I don't think UWE would have the resources or even energy, to support two versions of what is basically the same game.

    PUB play vs competitive play is two different things any way. I just think that pub servers should have the option to make pub play better for all. either select build 244 for PUB or build 245 for competitive.

    I feel that there are just a few core mechanics, such as the alien spawn system, which could be reworked to make the game good for both pub and comp play.

    The balance mod is doing a great job at this i feel (just from looking at the patch notes and feedback). The alternate alien tech system, alternate alien spawn system, changes to Exo, and improved movement code seem like they will go a long way towards balancing the game for both comp and pub players.

    Pretty much, once the game mechanics work with any number of player (12-24 player servers) the issue of pub vs. comp will be less noticeable imo

    from what i have read in the up coming patch, the changes seem too put in too account both pub and comp style of play, we wont really know till the patch comes out how the win ratio ends up, theres always mods that can be made by the server operator too make changes if the balance between pub and comp get too out of hand.
