Don't stop UWE....Don't stop.

I think sabot is going to be so incredibly beneficial for this game. It is the perfect solution to the sometimes unbalanced team problem faced with Standard server browsing. While there are some minor balance issues, we can all see how manically fun this game is. I never once thought that balance was a severe detriment to the game and my enjoyment. I did however think the way we organize PCW’S and gathers was far more laborious than it should be, and sabot is clearly UWE addressing this issue. Ultimately I think that it will be a massive boon for the player base. We have a stable, loyal player base. I check the steam stats every day, and while there has been a drop in average peek players, even if sabot was not introduced there would still always be servers with a decent player count. but i want the player base to grow, i want to see ns2 casted in tournaments to the audience size of SC2 and the like.
I would love to know how sabot is progressing, and if there is anything new that can be divulged .
Also the direction UWE is moving when it comes to mods is brilliant. The mod jam was a really good idea, and it would be great to see mods popularized far more than they are now, because they have a lot to offer. In the spirit of the asymmetry that ns2 game play is based on, I would love to see some sort of asymmetrical system to sabot for custom games. What I mean is, is an ingame system to easily browse custom games, and to be able to rate custom games and so forth. Something that grabs the attention of players and makes the player more aware of some of the awesome mods out there.
But the fact that the combat trailer and mod jam week even exist is clearly because popularizing mods is on UWE's mind, and whatever they do I’m sure it will be awesome.
UWE, you know exactly what you're doing, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Thanks!
1) Uses the official UWE servers, while leaving the community servers to the server browser (promoting more community servers by eliminating official servers from the server list)
2) Throws you into a 6v6, where winning as a team/performance increases your rating of some sort, which ultimately begins to match you against players near your level (biggest problem in this game among public play and probably in pugs)
3) Allows you to go in with a buddy or more, but searches for someone else also going in with the same amount of buddies to prevent massive stacks (inevitable but still)
I think it would be a great addition, because me currently I can play on pubs, however very rarely will I get an actual match, it's either.
a) landslide on one side
b) excessive stalemate due to inexperienced/uncoordinated team mates who cannot launch the finishing blow
c) one person destroying every single other player due to unequal skill levels, thus boring for that player, and ruining it for the other players (me)
Anyway, in 1-3 months I hope to see something! or just some good news on it
It's a thing you shoot arrows with.
what i am hoping for is at the very least 2) or 3). it would make such a huge difference on the accessibility of the game as well. i think community is a keyword here too because if you're put into a group that your going to be in the same team as for a few games, then you'll hopefully get to know them more than just joining a server and joining random sides. it may just be me, but the biggest satisfaction is playing (and of course, owning :P) with people you know and get to know.
