What happened since I was gone ? I am probably going to end up reading all the patch notes since I had to take a break from NS2 but I'd love to hear players thoughts and what is said to be the biggest changes! Thanks guys!
Hmm.. well, we got a new map called descent, a lot of maps have had some major overhauls balance wise, performance has improved, some items have had res numbers tweaked, the shotgun is now static pellets
Umm.. there's a lot, I recommend checking out the patch notes. Also there's a balance test going on for even more *possible* upcoming features, which introduces a whole list of changes that I don't even know all of them off -hand, welcome back
There are definitely others and you will probably be best off by reading all of them, but these are the major changes that I can think of off the top of my head.
- hit registration *much* improved, Skulks are easy to hit now
yeah!! netcode and game feels smooth as quakebased games (cs1, ns1, hl and so forth!) now!!
just kidding, u might get 2%-30% more fps (so if you got 20fps in combat before you are now at ~25fps - hurray !!)
but game itself still feels... like a beta should feel
Some map changes. Mine shaft has been changed a bit, mainly to stop hives being ARC'd from central. ns2_refinery has had changes, a lot of chages to ns_docking in the last 5 months also. Might have to get used to playing those maps again in some areas.
