Atmospheric sounds for things like power going out

Hey, think I mentioned this somewhere else but never really heard anything about this idea in particular. What do you think to atmospheric sounds/music upon things happening in the game?
When the power goes out, it would be awesome to get that chill down your spine. Perhaps sounds like breathing or your heart beat to make it feel tense.
Last of Us by Naughty Dog should be out pretty soon and I believe they've hit the nail on the head in terms of atmospherics (sound) in darkness with the clickers and shrieks:
