Gorge's Are Powerful In Their Own Way...

Try this...it works!
Was a gorge tonight backing up 2 fades. We were practically "unstoppable" (in MEvils' words I believe). Heal and Lay down those webs outside their base...they walk out...fades kill em. Eventually got the base. This game is so addicting...so many ways to play it.

I think that offensive webbing is fine, simply because smart marines could easily use a welder, and because it requires alien teamwork to be useful.

If you web the floor they won't notice it in time to weld it. I love babblers, they're so cute.

Babblers can also be used for cover to Xenocide on Marines who have gone pasty white at the sight of all those Skulks.

I've seen Babblers used to good effect, by having most of the team Skulk, and the 2 Gorges chuck in babblers just as the "real" skulks pile in.

Makes it much less likely you'll die, and the babblers will keep the marines busy for you.

Haha, offensive webbing. I had a game where I was playing a gorge and the alien team was winning. Stupidly, I rushed to build a little offensive base outside of the marine base without any backup. The marines had alot of resources because they had been dominating earlier in the game before the aliens managed to devestate their double-resource room ('the refinery'). As I built my little four defensive chamber/six offensive chamber base, I could hear a couple of marines equipping themselves with heavy armor and machine guns just a few meters away. To allow myself enough time to escape I layed down two webs across the small door into the hall I was building up. Moments later, the two marines I had been hearing came stomping around the corner with their big guns. They saw me, but I darted out of the doorway in time. One of them pursued while the other tried taking out my turrets which were shooting at the pursuing guy a few feet ahead. The pursuer didn't notice the webs and when he suddenly lost all control, he turned around and tried to escape from being devestated. Desperately I rushed near the door and laid two more webs that were impassible unless welded just as the second marine attempted to take me out. For some reason, he ran into the webs as well; and like the other marine, he turned to get away. So... as their commander healed them, I laid another set up webs up. And... here the two marines came again! But both at once this time! The first guy nailed the webs to make way for the second heavy-armored marine. Death was at hand for me!

Suddenly, a series of green splashes erupted on the armor of the attacking marine! A fade had come to rescue! The offensive chambers and the fade pummeled the attacking marine to obscurity in mere moments. The other marine, severely damaged from the offensive turrets, wisely decided to retreat, only too get shot in the back by the fade.

So, yeah. That's my little story of how I held off two heavy-armored marines as a lone gorge.
