Next time you connect and get this error - press the ~ key and read what mod it was attempting to download - go to the steam workshop and download it manually. A buddy of mine has this issue and its cause is related to his internet speed/quality.

Agreed - I missed the sub-text of the post, thought you actually wanted a resolution to the problem.

See, because I didn't address specifically what was the problem you don't have enough information, just like the game gives the player.
"Missing required mod." is more often than not losing connection to steam workshop, either the Steam workshop servers are experiencing downtime and can't download the required content. Or your steam client somehow lost connection and may need to be restarted.
