Is NS2 available for download on the Steam content server?

I am trying to get friends to download the game for the free weekend, but one is out of internet for the month. Telstraclear (the internet provider we use) allows for unmetered downloads, dependent on said steam content server.

Does anyone have any idea if NS2 can be downloaded unmetered? Thanks :)

PS: We are in NZ, a country that charges like a wounded bull with its internet...

Well, looking at this list, it doesn't look good. Frankly, the internet situation in your country sucks and you should petition your government to get it fixed.

It's not my problem luckily; I have 160 GB’s to work with. My mates don't, so they won't get so I can't convince them to buy. :(

Thanks for the help however, I had just hoped more recently it had come up...

You could try doing it old school-style, where you copy your NS2 folder to his computer and then have him verify his NS2 cache. He still might have to download a few files though, but it'd be much less than the full amount.
